    Through Retina Associates, a medical and surgical eye treatment center located in Tucson and Green Valley, AZ, The retina specialists provide care to patients for issues involving the retina, vitreous, and macula. The practice offers access to the extensive professional experience of Cameron Javid, MD; April Harris, MD; Egbert Saavedra, MD; and Mark Walsh, MD, all of whom have trained in the care of the retina. These practitioners have studied at such highly regarded institutions as, the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/ Harvard medical school, the Mayo Clinic, and Johns Hopkins medical center. They offer training to residents and medical students at the University of Arizona.

     

    Dr. Cameron Javid and his colleagues also engage in national research trials to advance the field of ophthalmology and further their own professional knowledge. They apply their expertise with a patient-centered philosophy of care that emphasizes individual counseling, thorough patient education, and in-depth diagnostic analysis. The board-certified practitioners at Retina Associates see new patients for a two-hour examination at which time the treating physician assesses the issues for which the patient has received a referral. Treatment then proceeds through follow-up appointments and surgery as necessary to correct such conditions as retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusions, macular pucker, macular hole, trauma and tumors involving the back of the eye.
