Established in 1974, Retina Associates is a Tucson, Arizona, Nationally recognized provider of retinal care, including the diagnosis and management of diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula. With board-certified physicians such as Dr. Cameron Javid, Retina Associates is affiliated with a number of professional medical organizations, including the American Society of Retina Specialists.
The American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) maintains a number of services designed to benefit not only physicians, but patients as well. The ASRS Foundation, for example, has developed the Retina Health Series of fact sheets for patients and families. Available online at www.asrs.org, the 35 illustrated web pages have been authored by medical experts well-versed in an array of topics, from risk factors for specific diseases of the retina to overviews of diagnostic testing. Specific installments of the series highlight central retinal vein occlusion, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and infectious retinitis, among other diseases.
